Regulatory Compliance:

Our firm has been closely following the regulatory developments surrounding AI and its impact on society. One such aspect of relevance is the liability’s regime related to AI systems, which is one of the main concerns of the EU regulators in the formation of the AI’s regulatory framework. We are also closely monitoring the developments in the area of AI’s ethics and are ready to work side-by-side with companies active on AI projects to assist them identify ethical standards to be applied since the design of AI systems.

Intellectual Property protection:

We understand the importance of protecting our clients’ intellectual property in the AI sector. Content scraping is in this connection one of the major source of concern for both IP owners and users/developers of AI systems. We have provided counselling in this specific respect to clients on both sides of the AI’s fence. We have also contributed and continue to contribute to the clarification of IP ownership’s rights related to software and AI generated works, in particular as it concerns copyrightability and copyright ownership of AI generated or assisted creative works.

Data protection:

As data protection concerns continue to grow with respect to AI systems in general and of late to large language models in particular, our firm is committed to helping our clients navigate the complex regulatory landscape. We leverage on our extensive expertise on data protection laws and regulations, to advise clients on the specificities of said laws applied to AI.
